MEAL RECIPIENT'S STORY

WILLIE MAE, MEALS ON WHEELS FOR WNY CLIENT

Family is my whole life. My family has always been close-knit and they are just so important. Being able to live at home with my granddaughter and great grandson right upstairs means the world to me.

Meals on Wheels helps make that possible. I get the healthy meals that I need to stay independent and, by not having to struggle to cook and clean, I have the time I want to help care for my great grandson.

As a retired nurse, I can’t tell you how much it means to me to still be able to care for people as I age myself. It feels so good to know I still have an important purpose.

And, I know that my getting the meals makes it much easier for my daughter and granddaughter as well. They don’t have to worry about me using the stove or knives or not eating during the day.

Meals on Wheels is really wonderful for me. I get healthy meals and have time for the things that matter in my life—like playing with my great grandson.
