LUCIAN WIZA

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Lucian-Wiza-2013_1Lucian Wiza has been Chief Financial Officer for Meals on Wheels for Western New York since fall 2011. In this capacity, he is responsible for overall fiscal management, internal control and coordination of all financial information for the agency in accordance with the organization’s accounting policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles and IRC section 501(c)(3) requirements. He also is responsible for fiscal oversight of the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Western New York.

Lucian prepares monthly, quarterly and annual statements for internal and external reporting; prepares, monitors and amends as needed an annual budget for each organization; manages an extensive investment portfolio; and reviews, modifies and implements financial and HR policies and procedures as needed. He also reviews all contracts, coordinates an annual audit, and manages the organizations’ employee benefits programs.

Lucian oversees two full-time accounting employees and also provides oversight for the Business Development department.

Prior to joining Meals on Wheels, he served as the Finance & Human Resources Manager for Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network, Inc. In this role, Lucian oversaw all accounting functions, prepared state contracts and associated paperwork, prepared the annual budget, provided appropriate budget breakdowns to accompany grant applications, managed the employee benefits program and more. He also managed the administrative staff and assisted with personnel actions as needed.

Lucian also has served as the Director of Finance for Every Person Influences Children, Inc. (EPIC) and as an Accountant for WNY United Against Drug & Alcohol Abuse, Inc. Further, he has a background in accounting consulting and restaurant management.

Lucian has his bachelor's of science in Accounting from Canisius College. He serves on the board for Preventionfocus, Inc., currently holding a role as treasurer.
