After a Thanksgiving weekend filled with family, food, and frenzied shopping, Giving Tuesday provides a way to give thanks to the organizations you are proud of.
Here are five ways you can make the most of this year’s #GivingTuesday and #NYGivesDay on November 28, 2017!
Make a donation on #GivingTuesday
The Meals on Wheels Foundation of Western New York prepared and delivered more than 900,000 home-delivered meals in 2016. By supporting Meals on Wheels with a donation, you help us meet the growing need for services in our community.
Ask your company about matching your gift
Some companies match their employees gifts up to a designated amount. Ask your employer about matching gifts!
Become a fundraiser
#GivingTuesday and #NYGivesDay provides a window to talk to friends and family about charity organizations close to your heart. You can become a fundraiser on #GivingTuesday through our #NYGivesDay page here by clicking on the large, red “Fundraise” button at the right of the screen.
Shop at one of our holiday partner organizations
We currently have two fundraising events happening in the Western New York area.
Step Up to the Plate – Dash’s Market
Step Up to the Plate runs through December 9, 2017. At any of Dash’s Markets four locations, you can add a $1, $3, or $5 donation to your final checkout price to benefit the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Western New York. Learn more about Step Up to the Plate here.
Share the Love – West Herr Subaru
Share the Love runs through January 2, 2018. When buying or leasing a new Subaru at West Herr Subaru, Subaru of America donates $250 to the selected charity of your choice. Please choose the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Western New York when purchasing your new vehicle. Learn more about this event here.
Your online purchases through Amazon can benefit the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Western New York. Add us as your selected charity and Amazon will donate 0.5% of your total purchase price directly to our organization. This is perfect for both Black Friday shopping and for all of your purchases throughout the year!
