OLDER AMERICANS ACT REAUTHORIZATION PASSES HOUSE

This afternoon, the House of Representatives passed the Older Americans Act (OAA) Reauthorization Act of 2016, an amended version of the OAA reauthorization that passed the Senate in July 2015.

The Older Americans Act provides essential services every year to nearly 11 million seniors, including information and referral assistance, in-home supports, nutrition programs, transportation, caregiver support, job training, legal services and protection from abuse and financial exploitation.

The new House version is anticipated to be passed by the Senate soon and then signed by the President. MOW-WNY President and CEO and NANASP board member was on-hand to watch the vote, along with other members of the NANASP board.
