Meals on Wheels for Western New York (MOW-WNY) serves meals to more than 3,600 homebound clients each year, helping the frail and ill elderly or disabled enjoy the highest level of independence possible. Last year alone we served more than 900,000 meals to the homebound in Erie County and an additional 250,000 to seniors mobile enough to get to a congregate site.
Meals on Wheels for WNY will once again be sharing the meal delivery experience with government officials and local celebrities through our “Champions for Meals” event.
Champions for Meals will take place March 21 – 25, 2016 between 10:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. each day.
Each day, local celebrities will deliver meals throughout WNY in support of the work that Meals on Wheels for WNY does. We will have alumni from the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills, as well as government officials – including the Mayor of Buffalo, Erie County legislators, Buffalo Common Council members, and town and village officials.
Meals will be delivered between 10:30 a.m. and 12:45 pm out of MOW-WNY’s 25 sites in Erie County. The exact time is dependent on the site. These sites range from Clarence in the north towns all the way south to Angola and Sardinia.
