It’s National Influenza Vaccination Week and it’s not too late to get your flu shot!
As you prepare to spend quality time with family and friends this holiday season, get the flu vaccine in order to protect yourself and those you care about from flu and its complications, such as pneumonia.
It is estimated that between 80 and 90 percent of seasonal flu-related deaths have occurred in those 65 years and older.
While you’re at your doctor or pharmacy, ask about other vaccines as well such as pneumococcal, shingles and Tdap (which covers tetanus and whooping cough). These vaccines can help protect your health and the health of those around you so you can all enjoy happy, healthy holidays!
