Meals on Wheels for WNY was the grateful recipient this morning of a Ford Friendship Van, courtesy of the WNY Ford dealers.
The Ford Friendship Van will be of tremendous value to Meals on Wheels as we continue to feed the homebound throughout Erie County. Each day, 3,600 meals are delivered to your homebound friends and neighbors from 25 sites throughout the region. This includes an expansion to the Southern Tier at the beginning of 2014 to five additional towns – Boston, Colden, Concord, Holland, and Sardinia.
“The van will be a huge help to us as demand continues to grow,” Tara A. Ellis, CEO and President, Meals on Wheels for WNY, said. “All meals must be delivered within two hours of plating and within specific temperature ranges, so having a strong transportation network to get meals to the sites for volunteer pick up is absolutely crucial for us.”
Thank you to the entire WNY Ford dealers network for your support! Buffalo City Mission and the Boys and Girls Club of Chautauqua also were recipients.
