MEALS ON WHEELS EXPANDS INTO SOUTHERN TIER

MOWforWNYcolor-ICON_2Meals on Wheels for Western New York expanded its services to ring in the new year, with four new delivery sites serving the Southtown areas of Boston, Colden, Concord, Holland, Sardinia, and Springville. These sites served their first meals to clients on January 2, 2014.

The change ensures that homebound seniors from the southern part of Erie County will receive two nutritionally balanced meals per day – equal to exactly 2/3 of their daily nutritional value – as well as the friendship of a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

The new sites are a product of a multi-year contract expansion awarded by the Erie County Department of Senior Services, expanding Meals on Wheels for Western New York’s services into areas formally covered by Southtowns Meals on Wheels.

Volunteers who would like to help us deliver meals to these new areas should contact Jolynn Keane in Volunteer Relations at 822-2002.

We are dedicated to serving the homebound elderly and disabled of Erie County. We welcome our new friends, meal recipients, and volunteers from the Southtowns to the Meals on Wheels for Western New York family!
