jolynn-smallMeals on Wheels for Western New York, a nonprofit organization delivering nutritious meals to the homebound elderly and disabled, has hired Jolynn Keane as its new Volunteer Relations Associate. Meals on Wheels for WNY serves more than 900,000 meals annually to homebound seniors and disabled individuals throughout Erie County who have a limited ability to prepare meals for themselves.
In her new role, Keane will focus on new volunteer recruitment and retention of the organization’s 1,500 volunteers. Additionally, Keane will aid in the development of a new volunteer intake process.
Keane previously worked with the Town of West Seneca as the Volunteer Coordinator of the town’s Youth Engaged in Service (Y.E.S.) program. Keane also was the Coordinator of Peer Counseling for the West Seneca Youth Bureau and West Seneca East Senior High School.
Keane graduated from SUNY Buffalo in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work.
“Delivering 3,500 meals a day would not be possible without a solid foundation of dedicated volunteers. Jolynn’s extensive experience in volunteer engagement and recruitment will ensure we have the people we need to serve Erie County’s homebound elderly and disabled,” Rachel Leidenfrost, Director of Strategic Communications, said. “We are very excited to have Jolynn join our team.”
Keane resides in West Seneca with her husband, James, and her four children.
